Family wedding pictures

This is far from an original idea, but I'm excited about it. At the reception, we plan on displaying framed pictures of our grandparents and our parents on their respective wedding days. Look at them, aren't they great? (Although I chose to leave out the second picture that Mom sent of her and dad; it involved a cheesy rose and an image of them cropped into a wine glass, complete with the added faux "sparkle" on the side of the glass...typical 70's...)

Grandma & Grandpa McAfee - date unknown

Grandma & Grandpa Miller - July 1947

Mom & Dad - March 1978

I need to find frames for these lovelies. Maybe these?

Engagement photos (one more), plus random Etsy finds...

Whoops, forgot to add this one to the previous post...

untitled4

Ok, now for some fun stuff. How about a few of my favorite things on Etsy right now? This is sort of a combination of my favorite things, plus my goal for our wedding weekend. Simple, slightly rustic, with soft yellows.

Engagement Photos!

I hate pictures of myself. I cringe when I know that I'm about to see myself on film. Does anyone else feel like they look differently in real life than they do in photos? It's like when I look in the mirror, I somehow see something that the camera can't pick up. I guess what I'm saying is, I usually feel more pretty in real life, and then suddenly that idea of myself is shattered when I see a picture of myself. Sheesh, do I really look like that? Immediately I want to change everything about myself. My hair, my face, my weight. You know how it is.

But then I have to realize that I am what I am, and I can't change much. And, even more importantly, is that I'll have these pictures for years to come, and I'm sure that when I'm 60 I'll look back at these and think, Wow, I was so pretty. And skinny.

So here are a few of my favorites. He looks great. We look great. Our photographer is wonderful, and was so fun to work with. Now I can't wait for the wedding!

I played around with some Photoshop actions. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Photoshop?

Soup...recipe

{photo from here}

I was browsing through this blog and came upon a post where she requested readers to comment with their favorite soup recipes. This comment made me laugh (copied below). Why aren't all recipes described this way? I love it. (Please note, I am in no way making fun of her English...I just really like how she describes it, especially the food processor part.)

Ok!!!

Here´s mine:
1 Cauliflower
1 litre of milk
Pinch of salt
Some onion

My english for food is not very good, so...you put the onion with the oil and let it turn ...you know...good, then you put the milk and the cauliflower and let it boil, and boil, and boil!!!Then, you bzzzzzzzz with that machine that turns everything into something like mashed...and voilá.Great soup. But I have this feeling that you didn´t understood a word... :)))
